There’s nothing quite like a warm, solid sandwich.

And while Subway might have taken over the market with their not-so-$5 footlongs, there are still some amazing places to pick up a specially made sandy—if you know where to look.

Soup Plus is one of those elusive spots. Located at 1102 Austin Ave. in Coquitlam, this subs, soups, bagels, and more shop is ideal for whether you’re looking to sit in or grab something on the go.

Much as the restaurant’s name suggests, the soup on offer is a major draw, with one TripAdvisor reviewer stating that “they make the best mushroom soup I’ve ever had.”

We tried it out for ourselves and we can confirm it is heavenly.

As for sandwiches, the shop offers all the classics like ham and cheese, tuna, BLT, tuna melt, toasted club stack, and more. We had the latter and it was one of the tastiest sandwiches we’ve ever had, hands down.

What makes this spot even more special is that the prices are incredible—especially after the inflation of the past few years. The freshly prepared sandwiches run for around $5-6, a regular soup is just $4, and all its large subs still come in at under $10.

It might not be the fanciest spot for date night, but if you’re looking for a meal that will taste good, fill you up, and offer a way to support a local business, Soup Plus is the spot.
