Learn how to make Moroccan shakshuka at this FREE cooking class
It's an Eat Tri-Cities exclusive event
The days are getting colder, the nights longer, and the mornings just that much harder to get started.
Which is why adding a brand new breakfast to your repertoire of morning dishes will be just what it takes to have you excited about getting out of bed.
Eat Tri-Cities member Victoria Paikin wants to share her knowledge of Moroccan shakshuka with our community this Saturday by hosting a free, Eat Tri-Cities exclusive cooking class specializing in the egg dish (with a vegan version available upon request).
We messaged Paikin about what inspired her to put the event together.
“[It was] my passion for food and to meet new people,” she told Eat Tri-Cities in a message. “Food plays a huge part in my life, both with people I love and people I communicate with.”

She notes that the class won’t cost anything, though those who hope to attend will need to RSVP so that she knows how much to prepare.
“Shakshuka is a dish that is prepared by Jewish [people] who came from Morocco,” she said. “I have lived in the community for a long time, which is why I learned how to make this dish.”
Paikin has organized cooking classes in the past, and her favourite part about the events is how people tend to connect with one another while learning recipes that they can use at home.
The Moroccan shakshuka cooking class takes place at 5:30pm on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Burquest Jewish Community Association.
Attendees are asked to bring a vegetarian side dish to share and a drink of their choice.
