You’ve gotta try Persian pizza in Coquitlam
Here are two spots where you can check it out
When you think of countries known for their pizza, the first to come to mind would probably be Italy, right?
And then you've got America, which has its own famous iterations with New York style, and Chicago deep dish.
But one style of pizza doesn't get enough credit where it's due - and we think that's a shame! So we decided to check out two spots in the Tri-Cities where you can get your hands on some Persian style pizza.
You can feel free to thank us once you do.

We headed over to HFC Grill on Austin Avenue in Coquitlam and had their chicken special pizza, which included marinated chicken, mushrooms, red and yellow onions, green peppers and fresh garlic.

The crust is thick and the cheese is plentiful, so if you were walking into a pizza shop hoping for an elegant Neapolitan slice, you might want to try elsewhere, because Persian Pizza is defined by the thick crust and ample amount of toppings.

TiTi Home Made is a cute shop that specializes in homemade foods. We had a vegetarian pizza: mushrooms, green peppers, olive, corn, tomato, onion, and their special (secret) sauce.

Just like HFC, the pizza had a thick crust as the base for loads of toppings and a generous amount of cheese.
Where: 102-1196 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, BCHours: Sun. to Thu.: 10am to 9:30pmFri., Sat.: 10am to 11:30pm
Both of these spots prepare their dough from scratch, as well as make their own tomato sauce in-house, allowing them to add Persian spices to create that unique flavour when compared to pizza from other regions.
Basically if you've ever had a slice from somewhere and thought "This could use more cheese," then you'll love this style of 'za.
