This new Port Moody spot has everything from coffee to beer to board games

Cafe by day, brewery by night

This is the kind of place where you can post up. All. Day. Long.

And with the weather looking the way it is (AKA more snow on its way to the Lower Mainland) it’s the perfect spot to spend your winter days.

Outpost in Port Moody is a pop-up café (and bar, and board game spot, and local goods retailer, and apparently much, much more) that was created over the summer by Langley-based real estate developer Marcon.

The space plays host to trivia nights, live music, dates, remote workers, run clubs, and even photos with Santa. It’s got beer from North Point Brewing, coffee from Timbertrain, goods from local producers like Tofino Towel Co. and Elderberry Floral, and the kind of interior aesthetic that makes for an Instagram influencer’s dream.

We think the spot’s somewhat confusing collection of characteristics can be best described by Outpost’s own website introduction:

“We have coffee for your morning commute but we’re not a coffee shop. We have beer for your weekend hangouts but we’re not a brewery. We have running shoes, face oils, and products to keep you well. We have items to look at in a gallery but we’re not art. Call us a community space, an immersive experience, or a collective of really cool brands. We are Outpost. Pop in and say hello.”

We stopped by to try the sandwiches (delicious), the pastries (tasty), and the lattes (we think you can guess at how those turned out), and while we didn’t stick around for a beer or three, we’ll go ahead and assume that they hold up just as well.
