5 notable Greek restaurants in the Tri-Cities
Proof that the Mediterranean diet is the superior diet
They say the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest—with good doses of fresh vegetables, grilled fish and other heart-healthy fats like olive oil—but it’s also one of the most delicious.
What could be more perfect than a large, balanced plate of piping hot souvlaki, greek salad, boiled potatoes and/or rice and garlicky tzatziki? Or moussaka, an eggplant casserole with tomato-ey minced lamb and a hefty layer of broiled, cheesy potatoes sitting on top to tie it all together? That’s not even getting started on the desserts—baklava is just one example of the many rich, honey-soaked treats you can find at a Greek restaurant, and you’d better believe we’re on a mission to try them all.
Here are some notable Greek restaurants in the Tri-Cities where you can find filling, satisfying meals that are both good and good for you.
This family-run restaurant in Port Coquitlam has been in the neighbourhood for over 10 years, offering delicious deals on souvlaki, signature meals like roast lamb and moussaka and large platters that are perfect for sharing. Be sure to check their website for happy hour specials, which run mid-afternoon and evening every day of the week.

Pallas Athena has a gorgeous interior decorated with tall white statues and big, leafy plants, making for a perfect special occasion dinner. Their menu has all the familiar Greek classics and much, much more—entrees like the thalassini seafood platter that come with scallop and shrimp skewers are simply to die for.
Address: 1250 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam
This Greek taverna has been running in the Port Coquitlam neighbourhood for over 50 years, and has become a local favourite for its barbecue dishes and thick, in-house, pan-crust pizzas. All of their meats are marinated, charbroiled, and slow roasted to perfection, and with each bite comes an explosion of flavour (their roast lamb and Greek-style ribs are highly recommended).
Address: 2232 McAllister Ave, Port Coquitlam
Though Pita Pan Donair mostly specializes in donair platters (as their name suggests), they’re equally well-known for their Greek menu. Some options include spanakopita pie, chicken and beef souvlaki, and roast lamb, all served on a bed of rice, salad, potatoes, pita, and creamy tzatziki.
Address: 2885 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam
My Greek Taverna has been consistently voted the best Greek restaurant in the Tri-Cities, winning the Reader’s Choice Award for the past consecutive 16 years(!) It’s not hard to see why—its menu offers a wide variety of traditional Greek dishes like keftedes (charbroiled Greek meatballs), tyropita (filo pastry filled with salty feta) and, of course, many different options for grilled meat and seafood platters.
