🥞 Brunch on a budget, anyone?
And where to find the most scrumptious dessert 👀
Hi ETC family!
How has everyone been keeping up with the cold? My comfort food for the fall/winter is usually soup or a bowl of ramen noodles, which is why I’ve decided to find and share my favourite ramen shop in the Tri-Cities with you—so stay tuned for that!
I’d like to know if any of the places mentioned in the newsletter have become one of your favourite spots. I’d also like to hear your feedback about the newsletter so far. Is there anything you’d like us to add?
If so, send me an email at [email protected]
Stay awesome!

PappaRoti brings a South East Asian dessert to the Tri-Cities
What even is a PappaRoti?
Well, according to its website, a regular roti is “an unleavened bread cooked on an iron griddle,” which is a staple in South East Asia dating back centuries.
OK, but what is a PappaRoti?
Back in 2000, the creator of PappaRoti decided to try something a little different. She turned the regular roti into a bun covered in coffee caramel and filled with salted butter, putting into motion the series of events that would result in us trying out the dessert over two decades later, right here in Coquitlam.
PappaRoti has expanded its arsenal of offerings since that fateful day, and we decided to try the incredibly delicious Pistachio Lover.

PKs Cafe is the perfect place for a filling brunch
What do you do when half the group wants to get a classic, Canadian breakfast, and the rest want to try something a little more exotic?
Split up and go to separate restaurants? Absolutely not!
Head over to PK’s Cafe, which serves everything from eggs and bacon to pancake tacos to Thai-style onion omelets.
The brunch spot can be found on Port Coquitlam’s Prairie Avenue right between Med-X Pharmacy and Ink & Honey Tattoo Shop.
We dined there recently with a group, and got to sample a wide range of the menu, ordering the classic breakfast, classic pancakes, burger, and the Thai-style chicken with rice and salad—which was our favourite, but everything on the table was quite good.
