Here’s a list of some of our favourite deli counters in the Tri-Cities so that you can restock your fridge with a healthy supply of specialty foods—both familiar and new—and maybe even a few snacks for the ride home.

As their name suggests, Maria Homestyle Perogies European Deli specializes in making different types of perogies with fillings like pork, cabbage and potato (hot tip: you can get a free order when you spend $40 or more!) as well as a variety of other European delicacies like schnitzels and cabbage rolls. Their desserts are no less enticing—if you’ve never tried Russian honey cake or German nut strudel, Maria’s got both and they look delicious.

If you’re in the market for bread, sweets or a full-blown custom cake, Europe Bakery & Deli does it all. While this deli makes some incredible baked goods and confectionary items, they have a lot of delicious cured meats to choose from too, like Bavarian meatloaf and European ham (to name drop two among hundreds), making this a great stop anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth or make a mean sandwich.

This is a one-stop shop for all your Italian kitchen needs, from traditional fruity panettone to all the varieties of salami we can imagine. Casa Del Pane has been in the pastry business for over 40 years, making some of the most beautiful cakes and confectionary items in the neighbourhood. They also sell multiple types of bread and pasta varieties—you might even discover a new pasta shape on your walk through the aisles.

Mulino Italian Deli is a quaint Italian grocery store that offers authentic, handmade pastas and ready to bake meals, as well as a selection of sauces, olive oils and Italian flours. Be sure to come in with an empty stomach, as their takeout menu consists of tasty paninis and sandwiches like “spicy Italiano” and “three Italian meat medley” as well as sweet treats like cannoli. You’ve got to get a treat after browsing the aisles, right?

Their seafood preserves are also worth noting here, carrying every kind of canned fish you can possibly imagine.

You’re almost guaranteed to walk out with double the items that are on your shopping list!
