Eat Tri-Cities Pasta Feature: Bar+Restaurant Nellos

If you’re looking for some classic Italian cuisine, this is the place to go. 

Bar+Restaurant Nellos might not have the most extensive menu, but what it does, it does right. The restaurant stands by the go-to pasta dishes (penne luxardo, spaghetti carbonara, tortilla alla panna, to name just a few) for around $20 or less, making it an ideal spot to satiate any carb-loading craving. 

We had the cefalopodi pasta verde (a Thai pesto basil cream with squid in pasta, charred cherry tomatoes, and prawns, topped with toasted pine nuts) and it was absolutely divine.

And while its pasta menu might offer just a handful of choices, Nellos’ drink menu more than makes up for it. Alongside an extensive wine selection, the restaurant offers cocktails divided into three categories: Modern classics, retro, and vintage. 

And, with it being an Italian establishment, it also has a cafe section that features some boozy concoctions that will keep you both buzzing and caffeinated. 

Bar+Restaurant Nellos can be found in Coquitlam at 925 Brunette Ave. from 5 to 10pm Thursdays through Sundays.
